You've got to be kidding me!

From the very beginning, Wyatt has been active; he rolled across the room at 7 weeks old and it has been impossible to change his diaper for 6 months now because he is Mr. Squirmy and tries to crawl away! Lately, his newest activity is climbing.

Today Wyatt was playing in the kitchen while I cooked dinner. His favorite drawer is the Tupperware drawer and he spends lots of time taking the plastic containers in and out and also throwing them around the kitchen, which is harmless enough...but then it got quiet and I looked over my shoulder to see what he was doing, and I found this:

Wyatt crawled into the drawer!

Today while we were visiting my friend Kim and her girls at their house, we couldn't find Wyatt, but we could hear him "talking". We looked around her house a bit and finally found him sitting in her bathtub! Yep, he crawled in there too.

And because we have just moved, we have all our pictures that need to be hung, leaning against the wall. We saw Wyatt pull up on them, but the next thing we knew, he was standing about 2 or 3 feet off the ground on the small wire used to hang the picture on the wall -- crazy.

Jack was never a climber and didn't get into anything. Wyatt, on the other hand, is the example of a baby for whom you have to fully baby-proof the house!!!

Our adorable Jack

Jack is now 2 1/2 and while he can be one of the sweetest boys at times, he has also entered the "Terrible Two's" and can be just as challenging and demanding as well!

He talks almost all of the time and is now at a point where anyone can carry on a conversation with him. He loves to talk about his cars, his friends at school, the things he sees while we are driving in the car and shapes, colors, numbers and letters. While he doesn't want to do it for us, we heard him count just perfectly to 15 over the baby monitor!

Jack's newest obsession is Thomas the Train. Mommy made the "mistake" of renting the DVD from the library and because Jack liked it so much, she bought a DVD from Target. Jack has only had the video for a couple of weeks and it has probably been watched 50 times already. He has quickly learned all the names of the trains in the movie and loves to tell us all about what is happening in the show. So far, he hasn't asked us for any train toys like he did with his cars, and we are hoping it stays this way!!! Since Thomas has come into our lives, we haven't seen a minute of the "Cars" movie nor have we watched any episodes of "Curious George". Jack still asks for "Finding Nemo" every now and again, but we end up fast-forwarding through a majority of the parts of the movie because Jack has deemed them, "too scary". He also informed us recently that "Jack is afraid of sharks" because they are also "too scary".

Jack is very particular about what he is going to wear as well! He has now rejected all pants except for jeans and will refuse to leave his room if he has on his camouflage cargos or khakis. He loves to pick out his own shirt in the mornings, but oftentimes the two choices Mommy gives him are not enough, so he has to inspect all his shirts to find the one he is in the mood for on that particular day. Usually he wants a certain color, but there are also times when he wants his bicycle shirt, his monster shirt or his shark shirt. He also is back to only wanting to wear Crocs! Ugh.

Jack is also a typical toddler in the food department and he survives on chicken nuggets, noodles, fruit snacks and air most of the time. In a matter of days he stopped eating broccoli and peas, which he once loved so much and he also isn't all that interested in shaved ham from the deli, which was also a favorite. Somehow in the past few months he has also discovered candy and chocolate and would eat that most of the time if he could. We are working on getting him back to eating the "healthy" foods and we are lucky that on the days he is at school, he only has healthy food options. Most of the time, he will still only eat the bread part of the meal, but hopefully it is a phase he will outgrow soon.

Most of the time Jack is full of energy and brings real joy his little brother. They have started interacting and playing together a lot more and most of the time have tons of fun together. Of course, we are still working on sharing toys and preventing Jack from tackling Wyatt to the ground or pushing him over, but 90% of the time they are best buddies.

Wyatt's 9 month photo shoot

Today Wyatt had his 9 month pictures taken and yesterday he had his 9 month check-up; he's been a busy guy!

The check-up went really well and Wyatt is staying on his growth curve, which is good news since he is only in the 2nd percentile for weight. He was 28 inches tall and weighed 16 lbs., 11 oz. Currently he is self-feeding and has for the most part stopped eating baby food -- Wyatt really enjoys "big people" food and eats almost anything that is put in front of him...

So far Wyatt has seven teeth -- four on the top and three on the bottom. He also crawls all over the place and pulls up on anything that he can. Wyatt does not crawl the traditional way, but instead has become a master "commando" crawler. He is extremely fast and can get across the room and into his brother's toys in a matter of seconds. When Wyatt wants to bring something along with him, he simply puts it between his teeth and takes off!

Wyatt has learned how to clap and wave bye-bye and he also has started saying "Mama" and "Dada" which is so cute. Peter and I think we heard him say something similar to "Jack" the other day, although it sounded more like "Gack"! Another cute thing that Wyatt does is that when he hears any type of music he "dances" and moves his head and body up and down to the beat. And just tonight he pushed his music table across the kitchen floor and was able to walk behind it.
